The recognised opposite of risk averse in the world of investments is risk taker or risk enthusiast. An investor who is willing to take on more risk in the pursuit of a higher, but less likely, return on their investment is said to be a risk taker.
Analyzing a person’s innate risk tolerance is one step in figuring out what kind of investment is most appropriate for them. A riskier but potentially more lucrative investment is more appropriate the more risk-tolerant a person is. A risk-averse person, on the other hand, is often assigned to more conservative investments, which are safer but less lucrative.
