Is Colgate University an Ivy League School?

The Colgate University athletic department does not compete in the Ivy League. Harvard University, Princeton University, Yale University, Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, University of Pennsylvania, and Dartmouth College are the eight Ivy League institutions.

The Patriot League claims that Hamilton, New York-based Colgate University was established in 1819. The college’s mascot is the Raiders, and its colours are maroon and white. Since 1990, Colgate has participated in the Patriot League athletic league. American University, Boston University, Bucknell University, The College of the Holy Cross, Lafayette College, Lehigh University, Loyola University-Maryland, the U.S. Army (West Point), and the U.S. Navy are the other nine colleges that make up this league (Annapolis).
